As a dog lover and an an avid believer in animal rescue, greyhounds hold a special place in my heart. As a greyhound owner I have adopted a total of 9 rescue retired greyhounds. Three of our greyhounds crossed over to rainbow bridge, and we currently have what we call a 6 pack ( Laney,Trixie,Spritle, Bellagio,Target and Ocean) . I am always looking for unique items to add to my collection of greyhound items so I searched face book and came across Sew Happy Hounds and was over joyed with the amazing craftsmanship put into each of these gorgeous Hounds.
We outreached to owner and creator Wendi Cowie to share her story of Sew Happy Hounds.
Greyhounds have been part of our family since our first adoption in 1997 (miss you, Eva!). Crafts have also been an important part of my life. So, it came as no surprise that after my recent retirement I decided to combine these two loves.
Sew Happy Hounds are soft-sculpture greyhounds; each are individually crafted using distinctive upholstery fabrics bought in limited quantities to ensure that each hound will be as unique as our real greyhounds. Every creation is a labor of love; some remind me of the greyhounds that have shared our lives and others of greyhounds yet to come.
So, thank you, Eva, CeeCee, Mo, Dobbi, PippaCruze, Maddie, Tassie, Sydney, and Quincey for all of the inspiration.
