The Sporting Breed Group: The German Shorthaired Pointer

The German Shorthaired Pointer is a very striking breed in its appearance. They have a combination of liver and white spots. Males can weigh up to 70 pounds and the Females up to 60 pounds. They originated in Germany and their versatility combines pointing, trailing,retrieving, and game killing abilities.

This breed is very high energy and requires plenty of exercise. They are playful easy to train and do not require high maintenance for grooming. These active dogs would do best with a family that can provide lots of exercise and long walks and has a full understanding of this canines natural hunting nature.
